Research Information
NAD+ is not a peptide but a dinucleotide coenzyme, and it sits at the centre of cellular redox chemistry. It cycles between NAD+ and NADH as electrons move through glycolysis, the TCA cycle and oxidative phosphorylation, and it is consumed outright as a substrate by sirtuins, PARPs and CD38.
Laboratories use it to reconstitute cofactor-dependent enzyme assays, to run NAD+/NADH ratio measurements, in sirtuin deacetylation activity work, and in senescence and mitochondrial-function models where cofactor availability is the variable under test.
Supplied as a 500 mg lyophilised powder. NAD+ is hygroscopic and degrades in solution faster than most peptides — prepare fresh, keep on ice while in use, protect from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
