Research Information
Semax is a heptapeptide made of the ACTH(4-7) fragment followed by a Pro-Gly-Pro tail. The fragment retains the neurotropic character of the parent sequence while the tail blocks rapid enzymatic breakdown; the molecule has no corticotropic activity of its own.
In-vitro research uses it in BDNF and NGF expression assays, in TrkB signalling work, in models of hypoxia-exposed neuronal cultures, and in monoaminergic system studies. Like Selank, it is a common member of comparative neuropeptide panels.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water, refrigerate after reconstitution, and aliquot before freezing.
Supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory research. Not for human or veterinary use, and not for food, drug, cosmetic or diagnostic application.
